Introduction:
Hifz is memorizing the Qur'an by heart.Hifz (also spelled Hifdh) is a term used in Islam to refer to the memorization of the Quran. The Arabic word [حِفْظ] ḥifẓ comes from the root letters ح ف ظ from which we derive the following meanings:
- To preserve, to conserve..
- To protect, to guard, to defend.
- To bear in mind, to be mindful/heedful.
- To keep up, maintain, sustain, retain, uphold.
- To hold, keep safe, take care of.
- o keep, to put away, to save, to store.
- To memorize, to learn, to commit to memory.
- To supervise, to control.
- Hifz is not just about memorizing the words of the Quran and being able to recite them from memory. It is also about understanding and contemplating the meaning of the words and applying them in our daily lives.
Here are some tips for your Hifz journey:
- Start hifz with the intention of pleasing Allah SWT.
- Make dua and ask for Allah’s SWT help as you start your Hifz journey.
- Make the Mushaf a part of your life by picking it up on a daily basis.

- Practice regularly and consistently.
- Seek guidance from a qualified teacher.

- Narrated by ‘Abd-Allaah-ibn-Amr that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:“It will be said to the companion of the Qur’aan: Recite and rise in status, recite as you used to recite in the world, for your status will be at the last verse that you recite.” (Al-Tirmidhi (2914) and Abu Dawood (1464) )
- “The one who recites the Quran and memorizes it, for him there is a crown on the Day of Judgment, its illumination is like the illumination of the sun, and he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. He who finds difficulty in reciting it, will have a double reward.” (Hadith narrated by Sahih Bukhari)
- “The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.” (Hadith narrated by Bukhari)
- “The person who recites one letter from the Book of Allah will receive one good deed and ten good deeds are equal to the one who does not have the same thing. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is one letter, Lam is one letter and Mim is one letter.” (Hadith narrated by Tirmidhi)

ALLAH Subhanu talha says in Qur'an...
"And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you want to count the favor of Allah,you could not enumerate them.Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful."(14:34 Al-Qur'an)
Qur'an is a greatest blessing of Allah.
"“And we have certainly presented for the people in this Quran from every example that they might remember.”
(Surah 29, verse 27).
