ARTICULATION

Articulation is about how to utter a word. It's the formation of clear and distinct sounds in speech (from which part of the mouth, tongue, or teeth). It is essential to utter the letters properly; otherwise, it could change the meaning of the word.

Any Muslim who wishes to learn the Holy Qur’an perfectly, as it was descended on our Prophet (peace be upon Him), must imperatively learn the exit points of the letters. You have to devote yourself to learning how to pronounce each letter well and articulate it to give each letter its required value. The point of articulation of a letter is the place of its phonation.

EMISSION POINTS OF THE LETTERS:

In Arabic, this exit point is called makhraj, its plural is makharij. It comes from the Arabic triliteral verb root, which means “he came out”. The Arabic alphabet has 28 letters, and counting the alif makes 29 letters.
